Philosophy club

How do you see the world?

The Philosophy Club meets Monday lunchtime in Room 7 to discuss all sorts of things relating to how people think and where we get our ideas.

At Winmalee High school we are a friendly group of students who meet regularly to talk about a range of ideas from the past, present and future. Some examples of recent topics we have discussed include artificial intelligence, cultural appropriation and whether ‘bad’ people can make ‘good’ art.

The Philosophy Club is open to students from all years and to students with a sense of curiosity and a willingness to discuss ideas and listen to the ideas of others. It is, however, most appropriate to students in Years 10, 11 and 12. Philosophy can help you to develop critical and social skills and it is particularly useful for students of English and History, HSIE and extension subjects in the humanities.
