Music at Winmalee High School is a course that provides students with individual and group musical skills, focusing on performance, composition and listening in a variety of contexts. We pride ourselves on strong and consistent HSC results each year which are regularly above state average with many students progressing onto tertiary music education. We support the developing musician to enhance their musical potential through Stages 4-6.

What does learning look like in Music?

Winmalee High School has quality facilities for our performing arts programs. Our Performing Arts Centre (PAC) allows for rehearsal space and an intimate performance area. With well-equipped music specialist rooms and a variety of musical instruments we cater for a wide range of performance opportunities.  Music has a computer laboratory with current and subject specific software such as Sibelius notation and Sony Acid. Winmalee High School has several large ensembles including concert bands, Jazz Band, String Ensemble, Vocal Groups, and guitar ensembles. We have devoted and dedicated students who have many opportunities at a local, regional and state level to further develop their musical skills. In recent years many students have been featured artists in prestigious programs such as PULSE, Schools Spectacular and the Talent Development Project.
